Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Ming Zhu (individual developer, “we”, “us”) for the use of the Together app and related services. By creating an account or using Together, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms.

1. What Together is

Together lets small, invite-only circles of friends share their live location with each other and chat. Joining a circle takes an invite code and the circle owner's approval. A free circle holds up to three people and free accounts belong to one circle at a time; a Together Plus subscription (section 7) raises the capacity of circles its owner runs to eight and allows membership in up to five circles. Location sharing is always started by you, visible only to your circle, and can be stopped by you at any time.

2. Who may use it

You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required in your country) and able to enter into this agreement. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for activity on your account.

3. Acceptable use

When using Together you agree that you will not:

• track, monitor, or attempt to locate any person without their knowledge and freely given agreement — this includes partners, family members, and children over the age where their consent is required;
• harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users, in chat or by any other means;
• post content that is illegal, hateful, sexually exploitative, or infringes others' rights;
• impersonate any person, misrepresent who you are, or create accounts for someone else without permission;
• attempt to access other users' data, probe or overload our infrastructure, or reverse engineer the service except where the law permits it;
• use Together for any commercial surveillance, fleet-tracking, or employee-monitoring purpose.

4. Your content

You own the content you share on Together (messages, nickname, photos, location data). You grant us the limited license needed to host, store, and transmit that content to the members of your circle — that is the entire purpose of the service, and we use your content for nothing else. You are responsible for what you share and must have the rights to share it.

5. Safety and moderation

Every member can block other users, report users or messages, remove themselves from a circle, and delete their own messages; circle owners can remove members. We review reports and may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms — immediately and without prior notice for serious violations such as stalking or harassment. We may also cooperate with law enforcement where legally required.

6. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Together at any time and delete your account in the app (Circle tab → settings gear → Delete account) or via our deletion page — deletion is immediate and permanent. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we may discontinue the service with reasonable advance notice where practicable.

7. Together Plus subscriptions

Together's core service is free. Together Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription that raises the member capacity of circles you own from three to eight — one subscriber unlocks the larger size for their whole circle — and lets you belong to up to five circles at the same time (the free service includes one).

• Billing. Plus is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and charged to your store account at the price shown in the app before you confirm. It renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Managing and cancelling. You manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it with the store first.
• Restoring. If you reinstall or switch devices, use “Restore purchases” in the app to reactivate a subscription you already paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies; we cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves.
• If your subscription ends. Circles that then have more members than the free capacity enter a grace period (currently 14 days) and afterwards become read-only — no new messages or location sharing — until the circle fits the free limit again or a member subscribes and takes over ownership. No one is removed from a circle and no content is deleted because a subscription lapses.
• Changes. We may change subscription prices or what Plus includes going forward; changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for, and the stores notify you before a price change takes effect.

8. Disclaimers

Together's free tier is provided free of charge, and the whole service “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. Location accuracy depends on your device, GPS conditions, and network connectivity, none of which we control.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Together. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we will update this page, note the new effective date, and inform you in the app before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Together after that means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the developer's place of residence, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence applies instead.
